"fierce, unforgettable dancers and repertoire...'

- Berkleyside

Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet is without doubt one of the hottest companies on the block.  Already famous for its diverse dance repertoire, the 10-year old New York-based Cedar Lake has some of the most high-definition, super-skilled and wildly beautiful young dancers in the whole of the Big Apple.

If you're into ballet, contemporary dance or theatre, come and witness the convergence of innovation, extreme beauty and athleticism and celebrate the kind of fearlessness and beauty only dance like this can offer.

Cedar Lake's utterly unafraid approach to the integration of ballet with contemporary and popular dance, an undeniably urban vibe and a genuinely cool selection of music (including Tom Waits!) sets them miles apart from their peers.

Through their daring, athletic movement and integration of ballet into contemporary and popular forms, the dancers of Cedar Lake take audiences on a choreographic journey that explores the infinite possibilities of movement and multimedia.

The company's sophisticated collaborations with the world's most sought after choreographers have left audiences across the USA and Europe all-shook-up.  In Auckland for the first time, Cedar Lake performs three works by three of the newest and most important choreographers to have emerged in Europe over the last decade.
